Fly Reels

More Liquid courage. When creating the first-generation Liquid, we focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. With the second-generation Liquid S we take these advantages to a higher level. Liquid S has larger diameters, larger arbors and increased strength-to-weight ratios that come from the unique pocket spar frame and spool design. The arbor shape has been redesigned for cleaner spooling, and the drag knob is now larger, and if we can say it, “gripier”. Liquid S carries the Liquid name to a higher level.

Heavy Duty Liquid Courage.

When creating the first-generation Liquid, we focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. With the Liquid S HD, we take these advantages to an even higher level. HD reels (full frame) completely capture and prevent even the thinnest running lines or mono from slipping between the frame and spool. This full frame version of our popular Liquid S is extremely durable and offered in sizes that pair up perfectly with Spey, Switch, and Euro nymphing rods. Featuring an impressive strength-to-weight ratio that comes from the unique pocket spar frame and full cage design that helps protect the spool. The Liquid S HD has large diameters, with an arbor and spool shape that is designed to promote clean spooling and quick line retrieval paired with a grippy drag knob for easy adjustments on the fly in any condition. Carry the Liquid name to a higher level with unmatched durability for a cast aluminum reel.

Available in Smoke.

The ultimate hybrid. A fusion between the free-form structures of a cast spool and the mechanical integrity of a CNC-machined case, Remix S is the ultimate hybrid. Machined from bar-stock aluminum, the case delivers maximum structural rigidity and durability all wrapped in a harder, brighter finish. The spool (compatible with Liquid S), is pressure-cast with pocket spar design and increased strength-to-weight ratio. Remix S improves on the legacy of the first-generation Remix with larger diameters, larger arbors, greater strength, and a larger, easy to grip drag knob. Remix S brings an unmatched level of quality in its class. The result is high performance. Reliability. Quality assurance. Plus, undeniable looks.

Totally enlightened. Steadfast and stylish, Guru has long set a standard for enlightened excellence as a rugged, fully machined, and ultra-reliable reel at a great price. By increasing the arbor to a larger diameter and making the spool narrower—all the while decreasing its total weight and parts—Guru S takes it to another level. An enhanced spool machining technique—focusing material only where it’s needed—makes this version significantly lighter and higher performing than its predecessor. We’ve opened the porting to reduce weight and improve line drying, and integrated the counterbalance. We even introduced a curved cross-section for structural stability. Taking your game to fishing nirvana, this will be your Guru for life.

When you just need a functional tool to get the job done then grab a FlyLab Surge and get out there. Lightweight, tough, and slick looking - the Surge is the price pointed reel that punches well above its weight.

A fully-redesigned frame and spool are highlights of the new Animas. The spool shows off the cutting-edge manufacturing techniques Ross Reels has developed, delivering a design that is incredibly strong and visually stunning. The Animas also re-joins the family by incorporating an ultra-light canvas phenolic handle which gets tackier when wet. A new trouble-free spool release yields zero-maintenance performance, allowing the Animas to be ready for any fresh or saltwater excursion.

The frame is accented by a machined silhouette of the Colorado mountains in Ross Reels’ backyard. Its uniquely ported design and structural profile are eye-catching industry firsts. Let’s face it, die-cast reels are intended to be low-cost alternatives to machined reels, right? Imported. Heavier. Easier to damage. Plain Jane. Well . . . not anymore. When creating Liquid, we focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. Structurally, you can do things with casting that you can’t machine: Full-radius compound curves. Near zero-radius inside corners. And for a precision fit and finish, we even go back and machine the cast part in critical areas—amplifying the best aspects of both worlds. We pushed back on other boundaries as well. How much of a reel at this cost can we make here in the US.? Quite a lot, as it turns out. It’s a good mix, too. Liquid’s high-quality castings are imported, but the components critical to the drag system are CNC-machined in the US. Liquid reels are assembled in Boise alongside our highest-priced reels. No other price-pointed reel can boast this much US content and quality oversight.

A reel hot rod. A super-high retrieve rate reel, the Speedster S features a narrower spool, inboard mounted handle, and an outer diameter significantly larger than our highest performing reels. The narrow spool prevents line barreling, while the inboard handle and added circumference improve retrieve rate. Rev these features up with our classic Lamson styling and attention to detail—plus our time-tested, maintenance-free drag system—and you have what the name implies: a hot rod of a reel.

The dimensions of structure and function inspire beauty. An enhanced spool machining technique—focusing material only where it’s needed—is the reason why this version is significantly lighter and higher performing than its predecessor.
